Standard Childcare First Aid Renewal Course

Welcome to the Standard Childcare First Aid renewal course. Breath for Life has received the Red Cross National Award for Excellence in Childcare First Aid Training for the past two years.
To qualify for the Childcare First Aid Renewal Course, the registrant must have taken a Childcare First Aid Full Course and the certificate must not be expired. Certificates are considered expired after three years. The Red Cross Childcare First Aid Renewal course provides the participant a review of Airway, Breathing and Circulatory emergencies along with CPR and AED delivery. First Aid content and topics specific to children and babies is also reviewed.
This one-day course is a hands-on learning opportunity to review the knowledge and skills that you have previously learned. The Childcare Licensing Handbook (page 8) reinforces the importance of this course unless it is not available in your location. Please review the course Topics. The Childcare First Aid Renewal course does not include an on-line component: this was an accommodation allowed during the pandemic which is now over.
Childcare First Aid Renewal Course Details
- Time: 8:00 – 4:30 pm: This course is in class only and does not include a homework assignment
- Duration: 1 Day (6 – 8 hours)
- Cost: $115.00 + GST = $120.75
- Certificate: The Canadian Red Cross will issue a Childcare First Aid Renewal e-certificate to your Red Cross user account (in-class details will be provided): certificates are valid for three years.
- Digital Copy of the Red Cross Comprehensive Guide
- If the title on your certificate says Emergency Childcare First Aid, you must take the Full Course
- The title on your certificate must match the ‘Standard Childcare First Aid Renewal’ course title
- A valid and current Standard Childcare First Aid certificate, from an approved agency, will be accepted
- If your Childcare First Aid Renewal certificate has expired beyond the date illustrated on your certificate, you must take the 2 day course
- Breath for Life commits to delivering the course that you register into
