Welcome to the Red Cross Standard Childcare First Aid full course. Breath for Life has received the Red Cross National Award for Excellence in Childcare First Aid Training for the past two years.
The Childcare First Aid Course focuses on topics and skills relevant to children and infants within your care. You may be a parent, a Daycare worker or own a Day Home: this two day Childcare First Aid course helps you build confidence around providing First Aid to those in your care. The Childcare First Aid course fulfills provincial and territorial requirements for early childhood education and is the recommended training for professionals who work with children in their various settings.
The Childcare Licensing Handbook (page 8) reinforces the importance of the Childcare First Aid Course unless it is not available in your location. This course includes practicing CPR and using an AED if a person becomes unconscious and stops breathing. Please review the Topics of this course.
Childcare First Aid Course Details:
- Delivery of this course is in-class only – there are no blended options available.
- Time: 8:00 – 4:30 pm
- Duration: 2 Days (14 – 16 hours)
- Cost: $145 + GST = $152.25 (Digital Manual included)
- Certificate: With successful completion of the Childcare First Aid Course, certificates will be issued to your Red Cross Account by the Canadian Red Cross. Your certificate is valid for three years.

- If you have a current Standard Childcare Level B certificate (within 3 years), you are eligible to take the Renewal Course. No other certificate qualifies you to take the renewal course.
